Cross-Country Success

Pupils in Year 2, 4 and 6 enjoyed great success in a large cross-country event held at Langley Preparatory School last week. Our Under 7 (Year 2) girls and boys each won their team event with Nadia Sharpe and George Baxter winning their respective races. In the Under 9 age group (Year 4) once again our girls and boys came first with Thomas Huckerby winning his race and Matilda Warde-Aldam being first home for us. Our Under 11 girls and boys teams were both placed third in their team event with strong runs from William Hunt and Esther Anderson. Well done everyone!

Lorna's Winning Run

On Wednesday 28th January, Lorna Magrath took part in the Norfolk Schools’ Cross Country Championships at Slough Bottom Park. She ran a superb tactical race, positioning herself just behind the leading runners. She moved easily into fourth place at the half-way stage and stormed home to win in fine style. She has now qualified to represent Norfolk in the Anglian Schools’ Cross Country Championships on 7th February.

East Anglian Cross Country Championships

Our girls and boys performed very creditably indeed in their races over a testing course on a bright but windy Sunday. All races were strongly contested, yet eight of our runners were placed inside the top twenty. They include: 16th Joe Thompson (Under 13 boys) 14th Esther Anderson (Under 10 girls) 10th Victoria Howell (Under 10 girls) 8th William Dugdale (Under 10 boys) 6th Nicky Price (Under 11 boys) Special congratulations to gold medallist Lorna Magrath in the Under 11 girls' race, to silver medallist William Tomson in the Under 12 boys' race and to bronze medallist Matthew Wileman in the Under 11 boys' race. Impressively, William Dugdale and Victoria Howell were competing against children a year older than they are - highly impressive!
