Judo

Town Close pupils who attend ASC (Adventure Service Challenge), on a Friday evening after school, benefit from the expertise of a very special visitor. Colin Oates is currently nationally ranked number one in the 66Kg category for Judo and has, for several years, been instructing our pupils in the rudiments of this fascinating sport. If he can maintain his national ranking, he will be competing for Great Britain at next year’s Olympic Games in London. As a member of the ‘extended Town Close family’ we are all hoping that he can achieve his ambition and look forward to seeing him in action next year in London. He is one of many great reasons to join the ASC scheme, which operates in Years 5, 6 and 7.
