New Astroturf Is Here!
Our new Astroturf has finally arrived! It was opened by Great Britain hockey international and Town Close House old boy, Richard Alexander. Richard will be playing in the 2012 Olympics but on this special day he played for a Town Close Old Boys XI against the Norwich Dragons first team. The result? A 3-2 win for Town Close. The Dragons were helped by another Great Britain international, Niall Stott who is also bound for London 2012. Expert umpiring in the form of top national umpire Andy Mair ensured that the match flowed nicely. The two international players had earlier played in a ladies match which saw Town Close former pupils (Old Girls seems inappropriate somehow!) draw 4-4 with the Norwich Dragons team. Radio Norfolk were on hand to interview Richard and several youngsters from Town Close which added to the excitement on such a great day.
