Foundation Stage Information Evening
On Tuesday 15th September our Foundation Stage parents were invited to spend an evening experiencing the Foundation Stage curriculm for themselves. Our parents were given the opportunity to meet the Foundation Stage team and explore our learning environment. A range of activities including gloop, junk modelling, paint and collage were available to explore. Much fun was had by all.
Prep Department Visit
Each of our Reception classes have enjoyed an exciting visit to meet Mr Ruffell. He is our geography teacher in the Prep Department. We found out about maps, globes and volcanoes. We also viewed our school from above, using Google Earth. We will look forward to our next visit.
Samaritans Purse Shoe Boxes
The Reception and Nursery children have been collecting items to fill shoe boxes for the ‘Samaritans Purse’ Christmas Appeal. They wrapped up the boxes in colourful Christmas paper and filled them with the items they had brought in to School. On Tuesday 3rd November Rev Rosie Bunn came in to School to meet the children and collect the boxes, which will be sent to children in other countries who would not otherwise receive any presents at Christmas.
Mary's Knitting
We enjoyed performing our Nativity Play "Mary's Knitting" to a sell out audience.
Hats For Haiti
Following the devasting earthquake in Haiti, our Foundation Stage children decided to hold a fundraising event. We each wore a novelty hat to school in return for a donation to the Haiti Earthquake Appeal. We raised £197.00. Well Done!
Reception H Class Assembly
Our first class assembly was all about our favourite things. We sang our favourite song and dressed up in our favourite dressing up clothes. We looked very funny. We talked about our favourite learning moment since starting school and everyone was impressed with our rhythm tapping. We finished with a prayer for the children in Haiti.
Reception S Class Assembly
Reception S performed their first class assembly to an appreciative audience. We shared our individual skills and talents. Miss Slidders and Mrs Amies were very proud of their fantastic achievements.
Reception R Class Assembly
On Thursday 4th February Reception R participated in their first class assembly. We introduced ourselves and told the audience what we enjoy doing at school. In school we had been very interested in living creatures and insects, so we showed the clay models we had made of insects and recited a poem about 'bugs'. To finish we sang 'All things bright and beautiful'. Mrs Rowley and Mrs Harris were so proud of their lovely loud voices.
